No! What you EAT will make you bulky. Lifting weights offers many benefits including building lean muscle mass. This muscle will actually burn more calories (approx. 50cal/day per LB of muscle mass) for you throughout the day!
The American Heart Association recommends an hour of moderate activity daily. We recommend at least 1-2 days a week of weight training in addition to the AHA guidelines, but each individuals' goals and current circumstances often times require different approaches.
The word "tone" can mean a variety of things depending on who you ask. Do you mean muscle definition, or were you referring to losing size for the mentioned body part? We can build muscle for certain body parts to add definition to the body part, but weight loss happens universally. Certain body types hold fat in specific places, unfortunately we can't "target" one spot to lose fat (without surgery).
